Week 11: Playoff Bracket

6 weeks are left in the 2017 season, and we are starting to get a pretty good idea of what the playoffs might look like. So why not predict? I’ll also list everyone’s projected record and seed.

Wild Card

AFC

3 Jacksonville(11-5) vs 6 Baltimore(7-9)

Baltimore is terrible. So is the AFC. Which is why they will get demolished by the Jags.

Winner: Jacksonville

4 Kansas City(9-7) vs 5 Tennessee(10-6)

The Chiefs lost to the Giants. That’s low. On the other hand, Tennessee got demolished by Pittsburgh, while Kansas City lost a tight game. However, the Titans are just a more complete team. It’ll be close, and this could be anybody’s. But if Marcus Mariota comes to play, look out.

Winner: Tennessee

NFC

3 Minnesota(12-4) vs 6 Seattle(11-5)

The Vikings are coming off a nice win against the Rams. Seattle lost Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman.

Winner: Minnesota

4 LA Rams(11-5) vs 5 Carolina(11-5)

This will be a great game. Jared Goff will keep Carolina’s D alert, but the Panthers can make this close. LA needs to make big plays against Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis. I hope we get this matchup, because it’ll be great.

Winner: LA Rams

Divisional Round

AFC

1 Pittsburgh(14-2) vs Tennessee

The Steelers shouldn’t have much trouble with this. The Titans already got whupped by the Steelers once. Pittsburgh will punch their ticket to the AFC Championship.

Winner: Pittsburgh

2 New England(13-3) vs Jacksonville

The Jaguars are good. But not good enough. They have an inexperienced team with an easy schedule. The Patriots offense will have a tough time, but they’re simply a better football team than the Jaguars.

Winner: New England

NFC

1 Eagles(14-2) vs LA Rams

The Eagles had a schedule that was made in heaven. Carson Wentz is a sophomore and in Jay Ajayi’s only playoff game, he ran for 33 yards before a 4th quarter injury. The Rams will try to upset Philly. And they will.

Winner: LA Rams

2 New Orleans(13-3) vs Vikings

The Saints will have trouble defending Adam Thielen, but the veteran leadership of  Drew Brees, Mark Ingram, and Ted Ginn Jr. will be enough to eliminate Minnesota.

Conference Championship

AFC

Pittsburgh vs New England

WOW. This will be an incredible game. The Steelers D will make it tough on Tom Brady, and if their offense gets rolling, they should be tough to stop.

AFC Champion: Pittsburgh

NFC

New Orleans vs LA Rams

The Rams had a nice run, but in the end, the Saints will send them home. Drew Brees and Mark Ingram will get through the Rams defense as the Saints will travel to Minneapolis

NFC Champion: New Orleans

Super Bowl

Pittsburgh vs New Orleans

The Saints will make it difficult, but Ben Roethlisberger will win his 3rd Super Bowl and Pittsburgh’s 7th overall. It will be a great game, and the Steelers will win, but it’ll be close.

Super Bowl Champion: Pittsburgh

  1. No one is going to beat New England.😥. These other teams look like amateurs next to them! Why can’t the Jets play like the Patriots?!!!

  2. I like your picks…until I don’t !
I agree the AFC championship game will be between
NE and Pitt. I think the Patriots win. It could come didn
to where the game is played.
I disagree with your NFC prediction. I think it will come down
to NO and CAR, with the Panthers winning.
I’m going out on a limb here, but I think Carolina will
win it all if they get to the Big Game. Cam is playing
    like an MVP again!

Keep your posts coming !! You’re the only guy I like
    to follow!!

  3. No room for the 8-8 Giants? I’m shocked.

Not so sure about the Rams losing to the Saints. They’ve got a new home and new fans that will catapult them to the Super Bowl.

And I sure hope you’re right about the AFC Championship!

  4. I like the picks. I’d like them better if the Redskins were in them but we know who’s fault that is.

Don’t mind the Rams upset. Not completely on board with thinking it will be Wentz inexperience. Just thinking it could be a fun shootout that goes to who has the ball last. Happy you don’t have Carolina winning a game.

If there was one pick I wouldn’t put money on it’s that TEN over KC. I think Reid will finally put something together. Especially with the Eagles doing well.

  5. I agree that Steelers vs Patriots in the AFC Chanpionship game would be a ton of fun, but as a Pats fan I have to pick them (while admitting a slight bias)! I like the New Orleans pick too, as long as Lattimore and Brees are healthy!

  6. To have the Eagles losing to the Rams is a joke! I like your AFC prediction as I can see the Steelers experience playing a factor and taking care of Patriots. But the Eagles are the most complete team on both sides of the ball right now. Eagles are my super bowl champions this year!! Book it!!!

  7. Solid recap! I wish the Colts had been better this year, but I’ll take the Steelers winning it all if it means Tom Brady is denied another ring.

  8. Awesome predictions. I think Philadelphia may end up in the nfc championship against the saints but I agree with your super bowl match-up! Excited to see how this compares with reality in January!

  9. Great predictions! I like your confidence in the Rams, the youngest coach in the NFL along with a dynamic offense makes them a fun watch. I do think the Eagles can take them at home though. As a Dolphins fan, I want to make sure that Alvin Kamara’s youthful contributions get more publicity than Ted Ginn Jr’s veteran presence on the Saints. Also as a Dolphins fan, I hope your Steelers prediction is right! If your prediction is true and the game is at Heinz, it will be a lot tougher for New England to return to the promised land. Great job summarizing all the teams and their strengths and weaknesses, can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out!

  10. I hope you are right! Pittsburgh has had a good season and hopefully they will get stronger these next few weeks. Here we go Steelers here we go!
