Week 7: What’s Happening?

The Kansas City Chiefs know a thing or two about collapses. In 2013, they started 9-0 but finished 2-5. In the wild card game, they blew a 28-point lead to the Indianapolis Colts. Now, after starting 5-0, they lost to the Steelers, largely because of their 6 total yards in the 1st half. In their next game, against Oakland, they lost on the final play. Now the team with the best record is…the Eagles? We take a look at what on earth happened to the NFL.

The Steelers Offense Stinks

Le’Veon Bell has his good days and his bad days. So far this season, we’ve seen a few bad games. The Steelers offense needs to get back on track. The defense beat Kansas City. When the Steelers’ offense takes flight, they will be unstoppable. Le’Veon Bell got things started with 179 yards against Kansas City. Antonio Brown leads the NFL in receptions(48) and receiving yards(700). Will Big Ben be next?

The Jags are Decent

Last year, Jacksonville won 3 games. So far, they’ve won…three games?? They are incredibly inconsistent. They probably won’t make the playoffs, but hey, you never know.

The Eagles have the Best Record

Did anyone see this coming? I didn’t. Between a solid offense and a solid defense, the Eagles are winning games, their only loss coming to Kansas City. Carson Wentz has done well. Will they win the NFC East? Yes. Will they win Super Bowl 52? No.

So, the 2017 NFL season has certainly been strange through 6 weeks. Let’s see what the next 10 hold in store for us.

  1. I agree that the Eagles will win the NFC East.
You make a very good point about the Steelers. If their “0” lives up to its potential, watch out.
Question: did you see the Jets being as good as they are? I know I didn’t.
I enjoy your blog. Keep it coming!!

  2. No way! They certainly played well against New England, but it doesn’t matter how you start the season, it’s how you finish it
